Hey Freddie, 'Cynthia's jamming on the........"all the squares go home" '. Hey man, I guarantee there has never been a bigger Sly and the Family Stone fan than me. I grew up in Jamaica in the 60's and came to America in '71 at age 20. Just before coming, I saw the Family Stone on TV. I almost died that day. I had never seen anything like it. I decided right then that I had to learn to play guitar. I do now although keyboard is my main instrument. But for years I had been wondering what ever happenned to Sly and his band, then I just ran into these sites just now (12/28/05) and am so excited to make this connection. No question, you guys are the biggest musical influence ever in my life and I will be visiting these sites from now on. In '73 I discovered Hendrix, my second mindblowing musical experience, thats when I finally made the move to buy a guitar and learn. In the early seventies I used to turn on the TV on weekend latenights just to see if Sly and the Family Stone was on Don Kirschner's or on the Midnight Special. God bless you man, and all the best.

Brother Fred, I happened upon your web site it is wonderful.. What can I say brother! You have been such a blessing in my life. From way back when I first met you as a young teenager your insight to the guitar and the lessons you gave me on definitive statements, Jazz and space continue to allow me to have an incredible career in music. I also want to thank you for preparing my heart to be saved. The music on your CD opened me to receive the word. I had uncontrollable tears of joy when I first heard "Higher IN the Lord" and by time Rose's verse came in the seed was planted, In good ground! Thank you again brother, you are a blessing! I was so blessed to "represent" on guitar at the R & B pioneer awards. That funk was for you. Let's stay in touch, Peace & Blessings upon you and your family, Billy

Wow, what a great website and how great to see some news from such a living legend as you are! Unfortunately, I´m not that familiar with the music of Sly and The Family Stone, I only own two Best Of-CDs but I LOVE songs such as "Everyday People", "I Want To Take You Higher" and "Stand". As a huge and long-time Prince fan, I know how influential your music was on him and his music, and on the Rave Unto The Year 2000 DVD, there are two great duets by Prince and Larry Graham on "Everyday People" and "I Want To Take You Higher". Therefore I´m really excited to have this opportunity to read more about you, get the latest news on what you are doing and to leave a personal message for you. All the best for your future life and career - keep the funk alive! Best wishes and regards from Germany

Peace and love to you freddie and your family. Just a few comments to encourage the great work that you are engaged in for our lord and saviour. My chosen profession is medicine, but my first love has always been music. There were only 2 influences that were indeed profound in my life regarding the music-----The Beatles, and more importantly, Sly and the Family Stone!!! Thank you for your musical inspiration on my life. D.Gordon D.O. Family medicine UNTHSCFW.

Wow, this music is amazing. I can tell it's the real deal just from the clips. I've been a Family Stone fan from way back hahaha. Saw the show at Madison Square Garden with Gladys Knight and the Pips and Six in 1968 I am a Buddhist, and we sometimes sing Everyday People and Stand to encourage the membership and the guests. You and your brother's music is quite international, worldly and applies to many situations. Keep on doin it brother !!!

For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. the living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth. The Lord was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the Lord. ISAIAH 38 vrs.18:20 When I saw your photo holding THE BOOK ! I cried tears of JOY ! Son, you made it home.

Freddie: Everything good I learned growing up came from just a few sources: my parents, the church, and The Family Stone. The message was always in the music: Everyday People, Stand, You Can Make It If You Try, Somebody's Watching You . . . and on and on . . . etc., etc. and pow. Congratulations and God bless. Bob

Haye Freddie!!!! I'm one of the fortunate few to catch S&TFS in concert at the L.A. Forum, complete with Larry Graham AND Pat Rizzo! With the "Riot Goin' On" flag mounted onstage, we knew we were in for some dynamite music, which nearly blew the roof off the place, along with the electrical circuits! Read my "Riot" review on Amazon.com: "The Day Street Football Died." SO glad God knocked on your door, but you had to open it...now you're a Spiritual Star...I can feel it when you shine on me! -God Bless!

Brother Freddie, I'm so glad find that first of all you are saved. Secondly that you're still recording. (I'm downloading your album right now from Itunes) You, more than any other guitarist influenced my style. I've played for many current artists mostly pop. Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Justin, Backstreet Boys, Ciara, Tyrese, Christina Milian etc.. I have to give you a great big "thank you" It's because of your influence that I've been able to work with the artists that I've appeared with. Well I'm excited to be able to take your new music to Europe with me. Peace Brother Freddie

Do you remember David Stallings, guitar player for Little Sister back then and music director for Lenny Williams today? Well he gave me a few guitar lessons when I was a kid which have influenced me til this day! Over the years I have come to realize those lessons were in the Sly & the Family Stone style of guitar. It's great! No one else around here can play it!

Freddie -- God Bless you and yours. Myself and several of my friends are diehard, old school Sly and The Family Stone fanatics. We recently saw the Family Stone Experience at a local club in Maryland. I got Jerry Martini's e-mail address and the next day poured out my love to him and your band, Sly and The Family Stone, in the e-mail set forth below. One of my friends recently ttoday told me that your brother, Sly, had appeared at a Phunk Phamily Affair concert and also gave me the connection to that website. With all my heart, thank you very everything you and your brother did! We still love you and I really believe that if you all reunited for a concert series, that God would smile on that event! More...

I am a long time Sly & the Family Stone Fan and also a brother in christ. I still enjoy playing keybords, when I am not at work managing accident investigation for a major transit authority. Please let me know if any of the Sly & the Family stone sheet music is availabile, such as Everybody is a Star. I am so happy to know that you are doing well and hope that the other former members of the Family Stone are well also.

The music of Sly and the Family Stone, of which you were such a huge part, is the most incredible thing I have ever expierenced. I am far to young to have ever seen the family stone live or to expierence the 60s, but your ability to directly express yourselfs perfectly through your music is incredible. Even though I'm totally disconected from your orginal audience I still feel your desperate attempts to lift the human race, and it's life changing. Thank you for your incredible music and I hope there will be a reunion so that I might once see Sly and the Family Stone live!

Larry Graham told me stories about you guys play at this club called Winchester Catheral in your PJ's. He also talked about the Woodstock performance and how it blew the band away. I just wanna tell you that S&TFS and still is what the essense of music is all about. Raw Energy to the bone and straight into the marrow of sight and sound. I seen file footage of Jimi Hendrix expressing his awe of you guys. I was in Grant Park when the riot broke out. All I knew was the people then and now are still waiting for a reunion. I'm confident to say it would be a major event in world history. So make history M'brotha!

I've always loved your music and guitar playing, one of my favorite songs is people off the Graham central station album, and let me say that the funk still lives on, and even young people recognize your work and how great a figure you your brother and rest of the stewart family are. Please don't stop making music, the songs you played on and done are some of the best songs ever recorded by any band, and trust me I'm a huge music fan been through thousands of groups whole collections, and the sly collection stands out from the rest, Thank you for filling my ears with pleasent sounds that keep me moving and motivated.
