Thank you for visiting stonecisum.com.
Hey Freddie,
Hey Freddie and company
Hello Freddie,
The name FAMILY STONE says much. I now can see the closeness with your family. You all are truly roll models
not only with the wonderful music you've given us through the years. But also with your belief and unity with FAMILY.
Dear Freddie,
My name is Simon Stewart..U may know me! Haha :-) I'm from Oakland CA...Just
signing your guestbook to let you know that my group member Gib found this
site and I wanted to say thanks for puttin me in your Thank You's! Also I
really liked the snippet of "wherever you are" alot! You had a few things
that you wrote or posted on your site that did inspire me and i'm thinking
very similar these days. Tell Stacey and the rest of the girls I said hello!
Hey man, I've played on the bill with you a few times in the 60's, early 70's. I was with Mitch Ryder, and worked with Greg Errico
on some projects long ago and Mandrill. Lately I'm working again with Neftali Santiago [Mandrill drummer]. We have heard some snippets
from your new CD. Cant wait to get my own copy, you are a monster!....bless you .......
Dear Freddie, I just found your web page and must thank both you and Sly and the The Family Stone Band and the whole San
Fransico music movement (Tower, Santana, Lydia Pence and Cold Blood etc) for being the greatest POSITIVE music influence in my life.
I SO admired what tha Family Stone did musically and spititually. You'll never know but I hope you do GET IT. That you are
loved and appreciated greatly. Oh BTW, I learned that backwards wha wha technique from you and was the "man" on wah guitar LOL.
God bless you my brother. Michael Wells P.S. I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Larry and Graham Central 20 plus years ago at Ohio State. Man what a phenom on the bass!!
We watched as he "warmed up" on his old silver metal flake Fender Jazz...what speed and precision....but you already kmow that!!! Love ya bro.
Hey Fred ,I like Sly new sound from what I heard I can tell he playing his new keyboard and he playing some complex chords changes
Hopeful he will tour a little bit so we can enjoy some of it but his health is more important than all that traveling so maybe on a limited bases .
Take care and Bless all the family members.
Freddie, I am living back in Minneapolis these days.. How are things in California? I went on your website and just had to say hello.
God Bless,
Pastor Stone! I just heard a tast of your music and wow! You still got it man! Your music I beleive this music and the message will revive the dead.
It is so refreshing to hear something different and stirring. I'm Pentical Holiness associated. I'm from Rudy Love's home town (Wichita), although I
have not seen him in years. I know that you all were closes at one time. I'm happy that you all found the Lord. I wish you well on the project. It is
better than just good, It's an awsome CD.
Dear Freddie, What a great CD you made!!! Its is very funky and well produced. Especially the chorus an bass-lines are just making it all very
harmonic and Its is great to listen to it. Hopefully you will release more music in the future, I am really looking forward to that. Are you gonna
perform some of your music live ? If so it would be nice if you could put out the dates on your website. Stay funky!
Hello Pastor Stone I've been a fan since ten years old. Hope someday the band will come together, before we all depart. I would also like to see
Sly and the Family Stone and the Purple Masjesty in concert, (Prince). Now thats Heaven. Blessings Vince
May God bless you Freddie and all of the Family Stone. You guys are true geniuses of music
and your music and legacy will live on forever!
Freddie and Family, The only thing I could think of when I saw Sly at the Grammy's was
"oh what a gorgeous smile." I still think he knows something that the rest of us don't know.
Mr Stewart - greetings from the UK. Your music (along with that of James Brown, Fela Kuti and the Meters)
really turned my head around in my late teens. Consequently, when other guitar players my age were trying to learn to play
like Metallica or Joe Satriani, I was struggling with 9th and 13th chords and semiquaver rhythms. ('Shredding' is for kids -
the real beauty is in rhythm guitar.) But more than that, I got music from you that celebrated life and recognized all
aspects of the human condition, at a time when negativity and nihilism ruled my thoughts. There's a joy, positivity and
energy in the music of Sly and the Family Stone (and a sense of drive in the guitar of Freddie Stone) that just isn't found in
99% of modern music, as sterile as it usually is. And I'm still trying to play 'Thank You' just right. 'Thank You' indeed.
Happy Birthday To Mr. Stone and Thank you all for the great music and
memories!! Keep on keeping on, from Delaware!! Peace
Freddy, Pastor, Guitarist, Singer: Syl's B-day and mine coming soon. I miss you guys.
We survived the 70's. A prayer for those who didn't. Your old road-dog,
I was wondering what happen to Larry-shout out to Larry, Rusty, Pat Rizzo and Andy Newmark. Pastor, every time I hear "thankyoufalettinmebemielf" ,
it makes me realize how hard you worked. Saw Lisa at the Hilton Hotel performing at Dr. Price's 30th anniversary. It felt good to be among family.
May you all be blessed forever!!
The first time I ever heard you all I was a twelve year old watching TV one Saturday morning in '68 and I haven't been the same since.
I ran out pronto to a supermarket that sold music and "Stand" wound up being the the first LP I ever bought with my own allowance money. Now
for the main reason I am happy. With the bands recent appearance on the 'Grammys" and the release of "Different Strokes...", two dreams have
been answered in a single year. The first one should be obvious. The second is that (and I hope Sly forgives me for using his words)
"a freaky lot 'em" are finally singing you guys freaky(?) song!!! 'Bout time.
Hey Freddie, First let me first say that you are and have always been one incredible artist. Your instrument really stood out with S&TFS.
Phat chunky chords that defined a new way of approaching rhythm.........whew!! I'm still blown away by your style. I caught you some years ago
flipping through the TV channels and didn't recognize you but, your playing was sooooooo familiar I had to stop to listen. You were on the
700 Club which I never watched but, I heard your playing and had to stop it right there. I was transfixed and when they announced that it was you
it all made sense. God bless you and your family. I've been thinking about Sly for years now. I actually met him back in late 1979 early 1980
at a mutual friends home in L.A. They used to talk about Sly so casually, I thought they were talking about "just anybody" named
Sylvester until.........that one day when I met your brother. I was floored!!! My favorite musical hero genius from way back in high school
kickin' it with my girls folks. Yall's music changed me from the moment I first heard it. And I still listen to it on a regular basis.
S&TFS CD's all under the seat in my car, all in the backseat, between the seats.......I know all the words to every song on the "Fresh"
album (the hardest ones to learn) and at 52, i'm still trying to translate some of it......LOL. Thank you for looking out and taking care of
your brother......more families could follow your example. I love Sly like my own. Please share that with him.
"Cause the main man felt Syl should be here another day and that's why we all got to be..............." Thankful & Thoughtful,
Hey Fred , it was good to see Sly healthy And Happy I understand him By being by the same sign He
love music and there nothing wrong with him taking a long rest people will pull you in so many directions that
you need to get away just to feel normal and have peace of mind.I think Sly has found personal happyiness and now feel
there a purpose to make music again.Yes he been gone so what if he only played a short time it understandable so they
should not reading to much into it. Bless all you Guy and keep on making music take care
Hi Freddie! First of all let me say that you are absolutely the greatest guitarist influence in my life and
I thank you for the inspiration. In 1968 I was 15 years old and that is when I discovered Sly and The Family Stone.
Since the first time I ever heard a note of Love City!, Malady! Chicken! I was hooked! and I am proud to say a life long fan.
Sly and The Family Stone were so inspirational to me and I Had such an immediate connection with the Message and Music that I
felt like I knew you and you knew me. As far as I'm concerned S&TFS are the greatest, Funk, Rock, Jazz, Gospel, Blues and
Country band that was ever created and you guys truly included all spectrum of music in your style. God Bless you all
and after the 2006 Grammy's I'm patiently waiting for a S&TFS reunion with the (original members). I Just want you to know that
there are a lot of fellow musicians waiting for your triumphant return in the NY/NJ area. I love you man for making me love the guitar so
much, stay strong!
I have memories that go back to the early 70's and then some, Cape Cod Coliseum and Franklin Park is all I have to say.
I watched the Grammy's, I've read comments from the local rags and "different people." The issue is this, Sly should be commended for
coming back onstage once again not criticized for staying on a short while! I dare one person that stayed tuned to the show to say
they didn't miss him and was not happy for his return however brief? Freddie, I applaud you and other family members for your past and
future endeavors. In closing I am going to ask the ultimate favor of you and your immediate and extended family. The music industry has
a serious void which is Sly and The Family Stone. I know your family supports one another to the utmost. so it is with the greatest of
thoughts that I ask the family to come together if at least for one more tour, to enjoy the benefits of a sold out concert (Fenway Park)
venue in the year 2006 so that the world can see and hear what they have been missing, you deserve it and so don't we, Sly Boston is rootin'
for you and the Family! Peace and Blessings
Hi Freddie, First and foremost may God Bless you in your ministry of music. I grew up listening to Sly & The Family Stone and I remember when
"Dance To The Music" first hit the airwaves here in Philly. And as a kid, I knew that it was something "different" from what I
normally used to listen to during those days. Basically, you guys took Funk and R&B to a whole new level. Rhythm wise nowbody played you,
Greg & Larry (Graham, whom which inspired me to play bass). You guys had that rhythm section on lockdown! (Bass)ically, you guys
inspired me to become a musician. Don't let me mention the horns. It was The Family Stone which the first time I seen a female trumpet
player tear it up!( You Go Cynthia!) But all and all, I'm glad to see that you finally released a solo CD and it's well overdue!
I think you one of the most funkiest guitar players I ever heard and you should get your 'props' big time!
I, as well as the other fans of Sly & The Family Stone will continue to pray for Sly that he will overcome those obstactles
and some day we will witness the real Sly & The Family Stone reunion. I think that will be a real treat!
God Bless You in all you do,
I hung out with Slyy a few times here in DC
Dear Mr. Stone, I've been a fan of Sly and the Family Stone for a long time. I'm also a
musician, starting to teach music in public schools. I've been writing
a lesson based on "Everyday People", and researching background
information on the artists who created it. A search of "Wikipedia" led
me to your website. Glad to see you're doing well, making music and spreading a positive
message.
Dear Freddie: I have been a Sly and the Family Stone fan for a long time and always wondered how has Sly remained healthy--
I knew you guys were from a praying family!
Hi Freddie, I love Sly and the Family Stone. The Stand album will always Stand the test of time. I really thought it was great to see Sly on the
Grammy's. No matter what any media may say, everyone I have heard on the radio and TV in Boston thought he was AWESOME for walking out there,
making his presence a new mark in history for him. Even if for a few minutes. It was great to see him smile and look like the Icon and
legend he is and will always be. So from Boston Massachusetts, tell Sly "Thanks for letting us see you. You still rock no matter what!"

Hi Pastor Stewart! I am a Minister and also as the TEXAS COUNTRY BLUES PREACHER";
I've been a big fan of The Family Stone since I was a Little boy and would love to see you guys return to the limelight;
especially now with positive Christian vibe in your Latest CD. I hope SLY's tribute at the Grammys goes well and please
tell him the HOLY SPIRIT told me that THE LORD is giving him a second chance to accept his calling to Minister to the people
the way he wants him too! I LOVE YOU GUYS AND KEEP ON KEEPIN ON!
I'm Cristian, 26 from Perugia, Italy. Ok, maybe i'm young, but my mum threw
me into SAFST since i was a child...and i still thank her. Try to imagine: a
child who never listened to 80's music, a kid who always sang stuff like "i
want to take you higher" instead of Guns n' Roses or R.E.M., now a guy who's
still in love with u all "brothers and sisters". Yes, maybe u are...after
all u drove me through my whole life just like a real family. I'll never
stop to thank u for that electrifyin' sensation i still have when i listen
to your music (everyday actually), it happened i cried few months ago
listening "hot fun in the summertime" just because it reminded me my
childhood. (hey, i'm only 26 after all...but i don't cry when i listen to
Police or sth like that, got it?;-) ) Ok, i'm gonna bore u, but plz try to
understand me, it's u, it's Freddie oh my God. With all the love i can express
hi freddie! great site...very inspiring and good to know you are still playing
that guitar so well!. you know i watched that old ed sullivan christmas
video of you guys, gave me the chills--still isn't anyone who comes
close to the power and positive vibration of SATFS. miss those days but
we gotta move on in a positive way. nother cool thing--you can go to jam
with musicians you don't even know and everyone always can play a few of
your songs. part of the canon of rock and roll i guess. peace
Biggest thanks to you, the Family Stone and Sly for the amazingly beautiful music. Funk has never been so rich and so strong as what
you guys created. I'm really happy to see that you are keeping the spirit alive and now blessing the people in even more ways!
