Sly and the Family Stone

History of Music Experience

Freddie Stone is a former lead guitarist and vocalist in a band he co-founded with his brother, Sly Stone. The name of the band is Sly and the Family Stone. The band was very successful and is still known for its innovative style, and breaking stereotypes by embracing a multi-racial and gender band. Sly and the Family Stone performed before sell out crowds throughout the world, including the historical Woodstock. In 1993, Sly and the Family Stone earned the honor of induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Freddie converted to Christianity in 1980, and became an ordained minister in 1988. He has traveled throughout many U.S. cities sharing his testimony of deliverance from a ten-year drug addiction, and ministering the message of hope through Jesus Christ. It is his desire to share the good news that saved his life, in hopes that other lives might be saved.

He has a God given talent to write music in a unique style with messages of hope and encouragement, which can be heard in his CD "Everywhere You Are".
